Week 6: What We've Done So Far
We are taking a break... sort of. Here's how our story has developed in the past week.
Rather than doing a weekly content recap, this week we’re going to reflect on what we have done so far and what we’re planning ahead. I’ll be departing to the Philippines for the next few weeks starting on Thursday and so it will be tough to keep up with the schedule we have been sticking to. Nehemiah is also in the process of mourning his late Father while planning his future with his fiance.
When we get back we’re going to finally be able to implement much of the wonderful/ constructive feedback we’ve received in these past 6 weeks of putting our story out there. Thank you to all who have given us feedback and led us deeper on this journey of learning what it means to be a storyteller in the kingdom.
To all those who have unsubscribed (you wouldn’t see this if you unsubscribed lol), thank you. Unsubscribing or unfollowing has done us a favor of learning who is not resonating with our storytelling. At first it hurt, but eventually I have come to realize it is a gift, because I would rather have 100 people listening intently, yearning to help us on our journey, than 1000 waiting for us to fall.
Stories we have told so far...
Every story told below can be found on our website, ppdkproductions.com:
or on our YouTube Channel PPDK PRODUCTIONS. Our podcasts are on Spotify, Apple, Substack and we also have music on Spotify as well. Search “PPDK PRODUCTIONS”.
Here’s what we’ve been up to and how we want to improve:
Last Saturday we told our testimonies through the spoken word art forms of stand-up comedy, music, and poetry. We performed it live and taped it with the help of a wonderful audience. It will be out soon. It was called “In Pursuit of Awe”.
We hope that we can do more shows like this with other collaborators. We want to help you tell your story with you in the Light of Truth.
From Work To Worship is our flagship podcast where we explore how people’s calling becomes their calling card, how vocation fuels occupation, how “to work” can be to worship when we understand who we were made for. So far we have explored Nehemiah’s story as well as begun to explore Nathanael’s. We hope to interview many more artists, storytellers, visionaries, and those who wish to see how they can serve the kingdom and tell their story. We released a new episode every week.
When we get back we’re going to delve deeper into many other people’s stories. We hope to release a Substack exclusive episode where the interviewee goes in depth into their artistic, technical process so that viewers can learn about what it takes to become a storyteller.
Nathanael Philip Mosher Has Friends is a live show where Nathanael introduces you to his talented, wonderful, thoughtful, and engaging friends. Each show is moved forward by an intention in the form of a question, shaping the material presented. First we answered the question, “Who would you be (your character) if the fear of suffering were taken away from you?” Next we answered, “What is fun to you?” Nehemiah proposed to his now fiance Brittney at this show (this spoils the surprise at the end, but it doesn’t make it anymore incredible). We released a new episode every week.
Next we’re answering the question, “All your dreams have been fulfilled, now what?”
On "My Father's Office" two men strive to cultivate mastery over two skills: chess and music (and now Pokemon). Watch as they practice performing and perform the art of practice, learn how to teach and teach how to learn, and most of all learn how play their purpose with the only tool that really matters, their own striving for authenticity. We livestreamed once a week on YouTube and put out an episode every week.
While away, we’re going to have a guest storyteller explore the world of video gaming and purpose.
The Process of the Paraprosdokian is a podcast about patiently enduring the pain of life with the help of people, discovering your purpose, sharing your perspective, and living to tell the tale. Learn tools to cultivate patience and engage with your purpose. We put out new episodes and are beginning to retool what this will look like in March.
When we get back Nathanael will go deeper into what it means to be a storyteller.
The Paraprosdokianist: A journalist column of: paraprosdokians:
"Paraprosdokian + journalist" = "Paraprosdokianist" Or: one who pens journalistic columns of paraprosdokians. Paraprosdokian: Greek for "against expectation" a rhetorical device in which the second part of the phrase makes you re-evaluate the meaning of the first, otherwise known as a one-liner turn of phrase joke lyric proverb parable quote wise saying piece of life itself summarized in the shortest unit of story resulting in: one's expectations being upheld, subverted, affording one a renewed perspective and sense of compassion.
We want to figure out how to make everything more collaborative and let this be more of a group effort/ collective. Our end goal is artist development. We’re starting with ourselves so we can blaze a path forward and discovering the pitfalls that come along the way. Then hopefully we can take you along.
We’ve been messing around with Notes or little blurbs and thoughts related to storytelling.
Hopefully we can figure out a better way to serve and engage those out there.
Overall, when we get back our goal is to launch a new podcast called “Flipping Failures” which revolves around learning to become a better storyteller, exploring a monthly piece of reading, and living to tell the tale. We’re going to be putting out lots and lots of music down the line on all the respective streaming platforms. We’re going to keep doing live shows, putting our films and specials, eventually releasing books as well.
Most of all, when we get back, we’re going to start reaching to those who wish to live to tell the tale and tell the tale to truly live. We have a workshop in the works and an idea of how we’re going to start developing storytellers into those who aren’t afraid to be as vulnerable as they are strong. We know you’re out there and we can’t wait to meet you.
Let us know what we can do better.
This has been a PPDK PRODUCTIONS. We invited you to Press Play on Your Purpose.
